Hadfield Nursery

Hadfield House was built in the mid 1800s, belonging to Baron Howard of Glossop. Over the years, the building has been used as a hotel, a children’s home, and for the past 10 years has been the home of our nursery. Springfield Nurseries took over Hadfield House in April 2007.

We aim to maintain a homely atmosphere, with bright airy rooms and highly qualified staff who cater to every child’s individual needs.

Our Sensory room is available to all children within the nursery, encouraging heuristic play.

We have a spacious garden for outdoor play and we have a purpose built building containing a ball pool for all the children.

We have very experienced management staff who are dedicated to ensuring that your child has a very positive nursery experience. We have a very strong core staff, some who have been with us for many years, ensuring continuity for your child. We also have a dedicated onsite cook, who makes sure your children will be fed a healthy and varied home cooked diet.

Hadfield is a close knit community, and we have very good links with the local schools. We are also linked to Surestart and work in partnership with speech therapists, language and development officers, health visitors and social services.

Snugglers and Crawlers

The baby room extends into a sunny conservatory. This area is relaxed and homely, geared to Emotional, Social and Physical Development. Once our snugglers can move around they move into our Crawlers group and have a lot more freedom around the baby area to explore the world around them in a safe environment.

Explorers

When children reach the age of two they move up to Explorers. This is a bright and airy space at the front of the premises with large bay windows that the children enjoy looking out of. The children experience varied child led activities. The emphasis is on learning through play and having lots of fun.

Nursery School

We have an experienced Nursery School team who aim to prepare your child’s journey to “big” school and make it as easy as possible. Children learn about the structure of the day, including morning and afternoon registration. The children have special time with their key workers and independence is encouraged during their activities. We enjoy our baking sessions very much, and the children have special time with their key workers doing structured activities. We also have a Ready for School group for children when they are just that, ready for school. They want to be treated differently and given more responsibilities.
