Springfield is lucky to have a very experienced team of nursery school staff who are committed to our Nursery School in all three of our nursery sites. In Nursery School the children begin preparations for ‘big’ school.

In Nursery School it’s about understanding structure to a day, social development and learning to ‘do’ things for themselves. We help the children develop a sense of personal identity and increasing confidence. We start number games and experimenting with language and writing, as well as exploring sound and understanding and making sense of the world around them.

The children still have a lot of free play times with a wide selection of toys available to them, inside and outside when the weather permits. We encourage lots of other activities such as baking with them and we go out on short trips to explore the community in which we live.
