Thornsett was our second nursery and opened in 2002. The management head a strong team who work together to make your child’s experience a positive one. We have very strong links with Thornsett Primary School and work closely with Surestart and Social Services. Downstairs, there is a well set out area for the under 2s, with a separate sleeping room. Upstairs are the preschool children who have a small outdoor play area. Again, we have a dedicated on site cook who provides the children with good, homecooked, nutritious meals.

Our children thoroughly enjoy the structured activities. We aim to make all activities interesting and interactive. Watching a child work through a thought process and be amazed at the outcome is a wonderful experience. In the preschool room, there is a computer set up complete with printer, and the children enjoy supervised play.

We bring the community into the nursery, inviting the emergency services, school crossing patrols etc in to come and talk to the children.

We aim to teach the children self care. This includes washing hands plus we have a strong initiative on healthy teeth, encouraging the children to brush twice a day.

We are able to take referrals from Surestart.
